NEW DELHI: A man has been arrested for planting detonators on the route of a special train carrying soldiers to Thiruvananthapuram. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh. It was learned that a railway employee had been arrested.
On September 18, detonators were found on the tracks of a special train carrying soldiers. The detonators were found to have been planted at 10 spots in a 10-metre distance in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district. Railways, NIA, Army and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) were investigating the incident. It was during this investigation that one person was arrested. It is being investigated whether there is a conspiracy behind the incident.
As soon as the train passed by, detonators -which were like firecrackers- exploded. On hearing the first explosion, the loco pilot applied the brakes and stopped the train. In the subsequent inspection, it was found that ten railway detonators were placed over a 10m distance between Sagphata and Dongargaon railway stations.
